Purple Leaf Youth Theatre is a Queensbury based Youth Theatre created to make drama accessible to the local community. We are set up with one thing in mind and that is to use drama as a tool to help young children find their confidence and self-belief in an ever changing world.

Meet Danielle

Danielle Bailey is the founder and Artistic Director and has over 15 years' experience of teaching drama to children and young people from a range of backgrounds. She currently runs Level 3 Acting at Leeds City College, and is responsible for equipping c80 students per year with the acting skills for higher education and the Performing Arts Industry.

Danielle has been involved in Performing Arts from a young age, participating in Guild Hall Speech & Drama, festivals and performances. She has undertaken specialist training on distinguished courses including Meisner, and regularly works closely with external organisations including National Connections and Leeds Playhouse. Danielle is a proud member of the National Association of Youth Theatres and delivers LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts) training,with yearly examinations.

Her belief in using drama to help students in different situations is something that has interested her throughout her career and as such she wants to bring her passion and drive for drama to her local community.

Purple Leaf Youth Theatre want to help our students develop confidence, self-esteem and respect for those around them.

Our Vision:

To help children and young adults develop skills through the use of drama. We aim to help communication and motivation and ultimately to encourage our participants to aim for, and achieve, their personal aspirations.

The group is designed to celebrate diversity and working together to inspire.
